Masters did all their scoring in the first 3 innings highlighted by a Larry Lowes 2nd inning leadoff home run. Down 6-0 the Heat battled back and produced a run in each of the last 3 innings but Masters starter and winner Paul Sutton got out of a last inning jam with the tying run at the plate. In getting the win, Sutton struck out 12 Heat batters.
