On Tuesday night Sweaburg Crush came to town to take on Hickson Heat for game 4 of the series. The Crush jumped out to an early lead as the Heat pitcher Josh Baer had a bad inning giving up a 3 run shot and a solo hr right after that. As the game progressed, so did the storm,.. clouds started to darken, and thunder started to rumble. The Game was called just in time as the lighting started to roll in . With the Heat down 5 - 2 going into the 5th, the game was put on a hault. Now call it a strike of luck, or just the baseball gods at play, but after a 30min wait the weather did not clear and only got worse the game was postponed and to be restarted on Thursday night back in hickson. Now, Thursday night, a calm night, not a cloud in the sky, with the Heat down in the series 2-1, riding a horseshoe as some would say, but to Hickson didnt seem so, as they themselves were struck with a touch of bad luck. As Hickson fielded a team of 9 solid guys, but only 6 of them to be their first stringer's. Due to injurys and shift work. But no tears to be sweat from Hickson as everyone picked eachother up on defence on a night where it was a true pitchers dual. Lots of balls were hit around but only a few would squeek through. As the Heat threw a enough together to mustar a 2-1 win over the Crush. A hat tipped to Dan Benbow and he seems to be dialed in , shutting the door on the mound in the innings that counted most !
