Congrats to the Bulls for a hard fought series they hit the ball hard and their speed makes things hard on a defense

Burgessville Bulls Game Report:

Burgessville Bulls 5

Innerkip Eagles 6

(7 innings)

WP Tim Neil

LP Scott Lovell in relief of Neil McDonald

Well pitched game and good defensive plays all game on both sides. In the bottom of the 1st on a Jon Atkinson line drive to the gap in right centre the Bulls Andrew Van Wyk made what many people in the park said the best catch in fastball anyone has seen. Getting a good jump on the ball Van Wyk jumped straight out to his right to make the catch three quarters of the way up the new 6 foot fence in Burgessville to end the inning. In the top of the 2nd the Eagles were able to push one run across to take a 1-0 lead. After striking out the first 4 batters of the game the Bulls would hit back to back solo home runs off the bats of James Schaafsma and Mike Maris to go ahead 2-1. The Bulls would capitalize on a few members hops in the outfield and would add 2 more to make the score 4-1 in the sixth. With 5 well pitched innings under his belt Neil McDonald would give way to Scott Lovell in the 6th. Scotty would get out of the 6th with the score still the same and go into the 7th with the lead. The Eagles bats would come alive in the 7th and they would score 5 and have a 2 run lead in the home half of the 7th.

Tim Neil was able to fan the first 2 batters his faced on strikes. With 2 out Matt Richardson hit a triple to right field, and like he has all series Mike Van Wyk hit a hard to handle chopper over the 1st baseman and was able to make it to 3rd with 2 out and Andy Richardson at the plate. A hard fought plate appearance by both Neil and Richardson resulted in a Tim Neil strikeout and the end of the game.

For the Bulls

Mike Van Wyk 3-4 triple, 2 singles, RBI 1 run scored

James Schaafsma 2-3 HR single

Mike Maris 1-3 HR

Matt Richardson 1-3 Triple
