Norwich jumped out to an early lead in this one with Jeremy Tribe and Dylan Polfliet hitting singles to get on base for Joel McKie and Rhiley Ingalls to also hit singles to drive them in, taking a 2-0 lead. In the top of the second the Lakers cashed a run off the bat of Dan Nevill making it 2-1. In the top of the third Tyler Hoshal reached on a throwing error and later cashed on a single from Brent Roloson, making the game 2-2. In the bottom of the third the Norwich bats woke up with Polfliet going yard after a Tribe single, and McKie scoring off of a Derek Smart triple. Smart then scored on a line drive sac to left field off the bat of Tyler Zylstra. McKie would go out in the the top of the 4th striking out the side in order. In the bottom of 4 the stage was set once again for (the beast) Dylan Polfliet with one on he went yard for the second time in the game making it 8-2. In the bottom of 5 Matt Taylor hit a ground ball to third and with JJ Harden pinch running made a fake towards home to force a no throw from the Lakers third baseman. Bryan Phillips ended the game by scoring Harden from third for the Tigers to take a one game lead in the series 9-2.
